2019 BMW 7-Series Vision Future Luxury Concept
Even though we expected some major redesign from the upcoming 2019 BMW 7-Series, it will be rather major upgrade than redesign. Flagship sedan will be refreshed both outside and inside, while the performance specs are not known yet precisely. However the design of the upcoming, new generation 7-Series is influenced by the BMW Vision Future Luxury concept. Just recently online media was floated with 2019 BMW 7-Series undisguised pictures, which showed what are the changes we can see on the upcoming model.
2019 BMW 7-Series Exterior and Interior
Changes made on exterior of the 2019 BMW 7-Series will include several new things. Overall body will be more muscular than before, with significant alterations made on the front and rear end. The headlights will be elongated, and grill will be more prominent. Front bumper will be placed lower, which enhances the resembles with 6-Series models. Taillights will be designed in a way we already saw at some previously re-styled models with chrome trim separating the lights.
Beside design changes new 7-Series will also feature some construction changes. It will include extensive usage of light-weighted materials, including carbon fiber, which will influence the weight reduction. There are no info about exact number of pounds this will cause, but new 7-Series is expected to be around 400 pounds lighter than its predecessor. Inside, the attention taker is definitely big screen placed on the center of the dash which is connected to the latest version of BMW’s infotainment system. Interior will be upholstered in leather with wood and metallic details, which will make it much more luxurious than previous generation.
2019 BMW 7-Series Engine
Although some detailing regarding the upcoming 2019 BMW 7-Series emerged online, few things are speculated still, but not confirmed directly. This is the case with the engines and performance of the 7-Series. According to several sources, we can expect inline-6, V8 and V12 units. 740i will be run by a 3.0 6-cylinder with 330 horsepower. 750i will have 460 horsepower V8 unit under its hood, while 760i will be powered by a 6.6-liter V12 that delivers 600 horsepower. Base 730i will come with 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with around 260 horsepower. Plug-in hybrid variants will be be available, with outputs of 275 and 400 horsepower. Beside these engines, new BMW 7-Series will also offer few diesel choices, that will be available for European customers, while it remains unclear whether it will be offered for the US market too. Both 8-speed and 9-speed automatic transmissions will be available. 9-speeder for the hybrid models, and 8-speeder for all the rest. Rear wheel drive remains standard and all-wheel drive optional.
2019 BMW 7-Series Price and Release
The big reveal of the new generation BMW 7-Series will probably happen during the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show, in March. The sale should start few months after that, while the price is expected to start around $85,000 and go even up to $150,000 for the top versions.
